2) Offline Booking via Railway Reservation form

Online Ticket Booking

Indian Railway started online ticket booking via IRCTC from where individual can book railway ticket online. The IRCTC web address is http://www.irctc.co.in/. User must have an account on IRCTC website in order to book a ticket. There are two options to receive railway tickets after successful booking i.e – e-ticket and i-ticket. The basic difference between e-ticket and i-ticket is that ‘i-ticket’ user will receive a hard copy of railway ticket on his / her address via courier while ‘e-ticket’ user will receive a soft copy of the ticket.

 

 

Offline Booking via Railway Reservation Form

Second option to book railway ticket is to go to your near railway station, take railway reservation form, fill up the details, get in queue, make the payment and received railway ticket in hand. Now you can download railway reservation form online itself, take print out and directly go to the railway counter to book the ticket.
